90-minute Initial Assessment (including verbal feedback and a written report) £595
Our Therapist will first identify and understand your child’s usual ‘occupations’ to discover what difficulties they face. On initial meeting with your child, we will carry out an Assessment, using observations of functional tasks and formal and standardised Screening in order to evaluate your child’s challenges and strengths. This will enable us to determine what next steps are needed to help them to do the occupations that are personally important to you and your child. If necessary, several different standardised tests may be carried out. We have a wide range of equipment which will be selected according to your child’s needs and our Therapist will make the session as fun as possible. The results of the Assessments will enable our Therapist to work towards a Therapy plan, with tailored goals, unique to your child. In-clinic Therapy sessions may be advised, as well as support for home and school. During the Assessment, the Therapist will give verbal feedback and you will then receive a written report detailing all the outcomes and next steps within 14 days.

-

This Assessment will evaluate the underlying components that support a child’s handwriting, such as muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and motor control using a standardised assessment tool. The results of this and any next steps can support with improving handwriting efficiency as well as any necessary school support strategies, such as extra time in exams.

Follow up Therapy sessions (all 45-minutes long) £95
If in-clinic Therapy sessions are advised, we would usually recommend these every fortnight in order for any new skills to be practised at home in-between. Therapy sessions may suggest alternative ways to carry out tasks, provide advice on learning new approaches and techniques, or make changes to the environment, for example, through using equipment or adaptations.
