Illness Policy

The health and wellbeing of children is of paramount importance at The Children’s Wellness Centre. To maintain a clean and healthy environment, we ask that you refrain from bringing your child to the Centre if they are presenting with any contagious or potentially contagious illness or infection.

Services may be cancelled or postponed if a Clinical Practitioner is unwell. If a session has been paid for in advance, a full refund will be provided.

The Children’s Wellness Centre has a strict 48-hour cancellation policy, which also applies to situations relating to illness. We appreciate that illness can arise suddenly; however, to ensure the sustainability of our service, cancellation charges still apply to late-notice illness cancellations.

To keep our staff, visitors, and vulnerable children safe, we ask that no child, young person, or adult attends the Centre if they are showing symptoms of a contagious illness, such as a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, or acute respiratory symptoms. This includes Covid-19 and other infectious conditions. Staff follow the same expectations.

If a child becomes unwell during a session and a parent or carer is not on site, the parent/carer or emergency contact will be called. While awaiting collection, the Clinical Practitioner or Centre Co-ordinator/Practice Manager will ensure the child is supported and comfortable. Medical advice will be sought if necessary, and emergency services contacted if urgent medical attention is required.

Parents and carers must keep their child’s Clinical Practitioner updated about all relevant aspects of the child’s health, including any changes to medical history, physical needs, allergies, or medications.
